Dagmar B. Epsten is the founder and president of The Epsten Group, a national leader in designing and consulting for high-performance buildings. She has achieved much recognition for her management of complex teams toward LEED certification. In addition to LEED-related services, she enjoys providing comprehensive architectural services, with an emphasis on mid-size commercial and residential projects.

Ms. Epsten contributes to the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED program, is a founding member of the USGBC Atlanta chapter, and is a member of the Building Commissioning Association. A frequent presenter on high-performance buildings, Ms. Epsten has taught for Georgia Tech’s Continuing Education program and is an active speaker at regional, national and international conferences, including Sustainable Building 2002 (in Oslo, Norway), Sustainable Building 2005 (in Tokyo, Japan), and Sustainable Building 2008 (in Melbourne, Australia), Greenbuild 2003, 2004 and 2005, architecture Magazine’s Mixed-Use Conference, It’s the Money Seminar, the national conference of the Association of University Research Parks, and the Green Building Focus Conference 2009. She also facilitated a regional LEED 3.0 visioning workshop. For Greenbuild 2006, 2007, and 2008, she served as session reviewer and member of the program committee. A recipient of several sustainable design and achievement awards, Ms. Epsten received the Construction Specifications Institute’s national Environmental Stewardship Award in 2007.

Ms. Epsten has 24 years of professional experience, including 18 as principal of the architectural and engineering firm The Epsten Group, Inc. Her firm’s focus on comprehensive, high-performance design solutions derives from her background in architecture, energy engineering, daylighting, indoor air quality, construction specifications, planning, landscape design and interiors.

Under Ms. Epsten’s leadership The Epsten Group offers architectural and building consulting services, including LEED consulting, energy modeling, and commissioning of systems and the building envelope. The Epsten Group has designed and consulted for more than 300 commercial, institutional and residential projects, providing services in all phases, from programming to occupancy.
