Michelle Morgan

The Medici Center

Michelle is currently the Director for the Academy of Sustainability at The Medici Center.  Their primary goal is to establish a National Sustainability Center here in Atlanta that will address concerns about resource management and environmental conditions through an integrated government, advocacy and business process.  With 15 years of experience as an architect in Atlanta, Birmingham and New York, Michelle’s first experience with sustainability was in the design and construction industry.  Her underlying mission is to show how people can have more while using less.

In addition to her work at The Medici Center, Michelle and several colleagues work together at Think Design Studio.  Their projects include consulting and planning for neighborhood development and infill projects with a variety of developers and also long-term design strategy consulting.  Her other design work includes interactive museum exhibits like Operation Spy at The Spy Museum in Washington, DC with Riverwood Studios.

In the past, she has been a member of The Junior League, on the construction committee for Newnan-Coweta Habitat for Humanity, and on the advisory board of the Central Education Center’s technology education program in Newnan.  Currently, she is doing research for a book about values-based work in the design fields.

Michelle has a Bachelor of Architecture from Auburn University and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Science in Architecture with an emphasis in Morphology at Georgia Institute of Technology.
