Jeremy Yoni Bedine
Jeremy Yoni Bedine is the founder of Sela Energy, LLC, a Renewable Energy consulting company and power provider based in Atlanta, GA. Since founding Sela in 2009, he has carried out a full scale feasibility assessment for the State of Louisiana Public Service Commission and has structured a proposed Renewable Portfolio Standard for the State. He has also lead multiple projects in the field of solar thermal water heating. Sela Energy, LLC is the official Southeastern US representative of Tel Aviv based I-Consortium, a clean technology consortium which represents firms in numerous sectors of the clean tech industry.
Prior to founding Sela, Yoni was a project lead for DPR Construction in Atlanta GA where he also headed their regional sustainability initiatives. In this role, he was responsible for conducting LEED assessments of all projects, training staff, subcontractors, and engineers to take the LEED exam, and heading up other initiatives including carbon footprint tracking, and regional operations improvements. While at DPR, Yoni also managed a number of projects. Among them, he managed the construction of the Bill Lowe Gallery, one of the premier art galleries in the Southeast. He also served as one of the three key project managers on the construction of a $25 million solar cell manufacturing facility for Suniva. This design-build project took only 7 months from inception of design process until the first solar cells were manufactured. This set a record within the solar industry for speed to market.
Prior to working at DPR, Yoni served the Israeli government, working under Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. He headed up special projects for the Prime Minister’s Office, in the dept. of Foreign Press and Public Affairs. While he worked at the Prime Minister’s office, Yoni dealt closely with Israeli and international NGOs.
Yoni holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics from Brown University. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and has been awarded a Certificate of Knowledge in Solar PV by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP). He has undergone extensive training in the PV arena including courses in design and installation at the federally funded Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC). He is a former Chairman of the Membership Committee of the Atlanta Chapter of the USGBC and currently sits on the Board of Directors of Hillels of Georgia .
Yoni is married to Odeya Bedine and together, they have two sons, Ariel Shalem and Dvir Zohar.
